Frances Murray

Frances uses low technology intaglio printmaking, creating both single works and grid combinations suggesting metaphorical landscapes. The works are meditations in line, texture and colour which derive from elements of the physical landscape, sometimes a particular place, but also about an inward equivalence, a personal landscape and memory.

Frances was born in Uruguay and educated in Britain, studying Modern History at Oxford. She came to Fine Art after a career in publishing and teaching, returning to study at Camberwell, receiving an MA in Printmaking in 1999.

She has exhibited widely, recent work being represented in the corporate collection of the Bank of England and Merrill Lynch, and in individual projects in London, New York, Tokyo and Kobe, Japan. She lives and works in the artists' quarter in London's East End.
